Free Trial
With Olympus, you can use the Free Trial of the ODMS R7 software to make sure you're up and running with minimal interference.
Follow this guide on how to install the software in the "trial mode".
When you have the software installed you will want to get your dictations emailed to you. When they're emailed to you, you'll simply be able to drag and drop the files into the software. Or you can just open the attachment straight in the email.
Alternatively, with ODMS R7 you can set up automatic Email receiving - We have a guide for that here.
When your 60-day Trial expires you will need to purchase the software from an Olympus supplier. You can use our Where To Buy page to do this.
Otherwise, you can select the group you fall into:
1: You have the Business Range Software (DSS Player Standard Release 1/2)
This guide assumes you have DSS Player Standard Release 1 or 2 installed on your PC/Laptop in the office.
You firstly need to retrieve the license key:
You can find your license key on a green slip of paper, which came in the original box of the product.
Alternatively, if you have the software installed they key can be found by opening it and going to Help > About Dictation/Transcription Module.
Once you have the license key you now need to download and install the software.
When you have the software installed you will want to get your dictations emailed to you. Once they're emailed to you, you'll simply be able to drag and drop the files into the software from your email client. Or you can just open the attachment straight in the email.
2: You have the supported Professional Range Software (ODMS R7 Individual)
This guide assumes you have ODMS R7 installed on your PC/Laptop in the office.
You firstly need to retrieve the license key:

Alternatively, if you have the software installed they key can be found by opening it and going to Help > About Dictation/Transcription Module.
Once you have the license key you now need to download and install the software.

3: You have the supported Professional Range Software (ODMS R7 in a Virtual Environment)
This guide assumes your organisation/IT have already purchased the ODMS R7 SCP and has ODMS R7 DM/TM installed on their your server. If you're unsure give us a call, and we can give the correct directions.
You need to download and install the Virtual Client Drivers on your local machine. You can download those here.
When you've installed those you'll be able to connect via your pre-existing RDP / Citrix setup by your IT.
4: You have unsupported Software (DSS Player Pro)
This guide assumes you have software such as "DSS Player Pro Release 5", or "DSS Player Version 7" installed in the office.
In this case you may be able to use the disk for your old software, otherwise we'd recommend installing the ODMS R7 software in a free, 60 day trial.

5: You have DSS Player For Mac
This guide assumes you have DSS Player For Mac installed on Mac PC in your office.
You firstly need to retrieve the license key:
You can find your license key by opening the software on your Mac and click on "DSS Player" in the top left of the screen, then click on "About DSS Player For Mac".
Once you have the license key you now need to download and install the software.
It is recommended to also follow this guide on enabling Hardware Control to prevent future issues.
When you have the software installed you will want to get your dictations emailed to you. When they're emailed to you, you'll simply be able to drag and drop the files into the software (You may need to drag the files onto the desktop first).
Using a VPN
If your company already utilises a VPN to connect to your office network then you'll be able to configure your software to look at those folders.

Using Cloud Storage
If your company utilizes cloud storage solutions such as Google Drive, DropBox or OneDrive you'll be able to configure the Olympus software to the service's folders.
