This guide will go into detail about how to import and export .bin files for an Olympus Digital Voice Recorder.
A .bin file will include user settings for a mobile dictation device (i.e. settings for wireless network, device folders, email profile etc.). This is useful for backing up the device settings before resetting the device or to quickly configure another recorder with the same settings.
You will need to download the Device Customisation Program (DCP) which is a license free program. You can download it from our Utilities section here.
Note: DCP is not compatible with macOS.
Connect the device to your PC and run the DCP. You should see the following...
You can find the import and export buttons at the bottom left or at the top left after clicking 'File'.
- Find the .bin file you're looking to import to your voice recorder and click on open.
Click Load > All pages. This ensures that all the configured device settings will appear for this recorder.
- Once you've opened the .bin file make sure to click on Update > All Pages as this will update the device with the new settings.
- Choose the file name and location of where you want to save the .bin file.
