Configuring Voice Recognition: General Settings
The ODMS Dictation Module supports Background and Real-time voice recognition. This guide aims to demonstrate the settings available and provide an overview of enabling Voice Recognition and configuring the General Settings.
Note: Dragon Naturally Speaking must be installed with a trained dragon profile. It is recommended that training is completed in full to ensure maximum accuracy.
Voice Recognition Modes

Real-time Voice Recognition: This mode is used for recording a dictation and having it transcribed simultaneously by the Dragon Engine.

Background Voice Recognition: Files that have been downloaded or imported are transcribed in a queue while the user can continue to use ODMS and other applications on the PC.
Voice Recognition Settings
The following settings are available through the Voice Recognition Menu. To access this menu:

Click on Tools > Options > Workflow and select Voice Recognition.

General - Enable and Disable Voice Recognition, configure adaptation settings.
Real-time Voice Recognition – Configure settings relating to Real-time Voice Recognition.
Background Voice Recognition – Configure Background Voice Recognition settings.
Text Correction – Configure Text Correction settings, select output path of completed documents.
Template – Add document templates, create rules to use specific templates based on Author ID and Worktype ID.
Dragon Naturally Speaking – Configure ODMS to use a DNS profile, export your DNS profile to support roaming profiles.
Configuring General Settings
Enabling Voice Recognition Features

Click on Tools > Options > Workflow.

Select Voice Recognition and click on General.

Tick the box 'Enable Voice Recognition Features'

Click Apply and Ok.

The remaining Voice Recognition menus will now be available to configure settings.
Enable Adaptation
Adaptation allows the Voice Recognition engine to adapt to corrections made during transcription. This helps to improve the accuracy of the Voice Recognition profile.

Click Tools > Options > Workflow.

Select Voice Recognition and click General.

Tick the box that says “Do adaptation after the correction of recognized texts”
