The SC1 is a Plug-in module for DS-5000 / 5000iD and connects via the units SDHC card slot. The scanner allows data capture of option item values such as case number or patient number into the DSS audio file.
The SC1 allows the DS-5000 / 5000iD to be used as a USB barcode reader for the PC.

 The SC1 is a Class 1 Laser Product. Do not direct the beam in to eyes.

 

• Open DSS Player Pro R5 Dictation Module. Select Tools > Options.

 

• Select Worktype from the Workflow tab.

 

 

• Now click Add…

 

 

• Type a Worktype ID. E.g. PATIENT_RECORD

 

 

• Now click the Add button.

 

 

• This dialog box will allow us to add data capture information.Type a Label E.g. PATIENT

 

 

• If required, you can now enter a default value. In this example it will remain blank. Click OK when complete.

 

 

• More labels can be added for each Worktype. In this example we have used MEDICATION_ID too.

• Click OK when complete. Additional Worktypes can be added. Example: MEDICAL REPORT and/or INTERNAL MEMO.

  

 

• Select the Prompt for Worktype ID on new recordings checkbox.

 

 

• Select the Update button and click All Pages.

 

 

• Acknowledge the update by clicking OK.

 

 

• Click OK to confirm and exit the options menu.

 

 

• When dictation is downloaded, we want to see the data captured by the SC1. There are two way of displaying this data:

 

 

Content List View & Properties View

 

• Content List View requires a little configuration. Property view is automatic.

 

 

Column View

• Next is the short procedure to set Columns to display in the List View.

• Select the View drop down menu, then select Columns to Display. 

 

 

• Move the Option Item field(s) from the left to right using the >> (S) button.

 

 

• Then arrange the columns to suit your requirements. Click OK to confirm.

 

Configuration complete. You are now ready to disconnect the device start using the SC1 with the DS5000iD or DS5000.

• Remove SD card and insert SC1. 

• Switch on the DS-5000

• The DS5000 will then prompt for option items. The F1 smart button becomes the SCAN button.

• The scan angle is approximately 80°which is perfect for almost every application.
