Windows Service Packs
Whilst Olympus software is flexible, it is built to the specification of the latest Windows builds. We believe a well maintained computer is a reliable computer. and we highly recommend you ensure the destination PC has the latest Windows service packs installed. Although sometimes time consuming, they are easy to install.
To check the service pack installed, right click My Computer and select Properties.
Windows XP
- We have noticed a few reliability issues when using R5 with Windows XP SP2. We strongly recommend you upgrade to SP3.
Windows Vista
- There are many mixed feelings surrounding this version of the Windows OS. Stability is greatly improved by ensuring you have SP2 installed.
To upgrade Windows, select Start > All Programs > Windows Update.
You should allow an hour or more to complete these updates.
